Swimming in October

Who would be crazy enough to go swimming outside in October? I guess we would! My dad called me up and said that it was supposed to be 74 degrees F on Tuesday the 8th. He proposed that he would heat the pool if we would come have one last pool party. I said we would swim if it really was above 70 degrees outside.

As soon as school got out, we headed to grandma's house. It was 72 degrees outside, and so we hopped in the pool. The pool was nice and warm, but anything above the water felt chilly. We had one last swim. I think this is the latest in the year that we have ever gone swimming (although I know my dad has gone swimming in December). P3 was even swimming on his own with his floaties. Usually he makes me hold onto him.

Getting out was the hard part! It was cold! P3 and I got out first because he was getting cold. We got dressed and warmed up. Then the big kids finally got out, and they hated it! P1 said that if he ever owns a pool, he won't let anyone swim in October! He really did have fun swimming, it was just hard to get out. We had dinner there, and had to have the traditional ice cream sandwiches after swimming.
