The Pumpkin Patch

After my brother's wedding, we drove down to my grandma's house to pick pumpkins. My step-uncle's family grows tons of pumpkins and sell them all over the state. They are always kind to let us come and pick our own. This year because of the early hard frost, a lot of the pumpkins were very mushy. It was a much harder year to find good pumpkins. The kids still had fun though.

It made for a long day, and I was not feeling very well. After we loaded up the van, we headed back home. We stopped in Springville and ate at the Tropical Smoothie Cafe. We had smoothies and quesadillas, and it really hit the spot.

There were 3 girls there who were probably 10 or 11. They were counting out their change to see if they had enough to buy something. One of them offered a piece of candy for P3. They were cute little girls. I remembered that I had a few dollars in my wallet, so I went over and gave them $3. They asked if I was sure, and I said yes. It made me feel really good and my headache suddenly went away. It wasn't much, but they were excited about it. Well, turns out they couldn't make up their mind, and then their mom came to get them. So they gave the money back to me. I should have just bought them some food. Oh well, it was still a sweet experience.
