First Day of School

First day of school! P1 started 1st grade and P2 started Kindergarten. It will be strange to have P1 gone for most of the day. They were both excited, and P2 was happy to have the same kindergarten teacher that P2 had. P1 is in the same class as his best friend, and he has 2 teachers. The morning teacher does reading and writing, while the afternoon teacher does math and science.

 

 P2's first day of kindergarten was very short, and parents stayed the whole time. She knows 2 kids in her class. She was a little overwhelmed with the newness of everything, but I'm sure that she will love kindergarten!

I really lucked out with carpool this year. I set up a carpool with the same family as last year. Since P2 had morning kindergarten, I wanted to drive in the mornings. So I would do morning drop offs, and the other mom would pick up the first graders. I was planning on just picking up P2 from kindergarten every day. Well, a few days before school started, another mom asked if I wanted to do carpool with our kindergartners. I said I was already committed to driving in the morning, but that I had an extra seat. She said that would be great if I could take them in the morning, and she would pick up the kindergartners every day. So, all I have to do is drop kids off in the morning!
