March 11-17

On Tuesday night, we had our Relief Society Birthday Celebration. Dinner was catered by Olive Garden and the guest speaker was Sister Ardeth Kapp, former General Young Women President. It was a great night! The food was delicious, and Sister Kapp was very upbeat and uplifting. She had us do a little exercise where we paired up, and held hands. First, we told each other something we liked about them (small talk). Second, we talked about something we both thought was important and we could both support. Third, we each shared a burden we are carrying. And fourth, we told them what we would say if we knew it was the last time on this earth that we would see them. It was a little awkward, but also powerful. Many were in tears. Sister Kapp said small talk is good and breaks the ice, but we need to also move beyond that to really love each other. The theme of the night was to Rise Up, and so they had lots of balloons. The kids enjoyed the ones I brought home.

We bought a bigger bike for P1. It was definitely needed as his other bike is much too small. Why do kids grow so much?!?! He likes it, and we need to use it a lot so that soon we can try to take away the training wheels. While I was assembling it, P3 kept trying to climb on it and ride it. We may need to get him a little tricycle. P3 always gets splotchy around the eyes when we go outside. He may have a sun allergy...

We found out that P1 got punched in the face on Friday during kindergarten. Just what every parent wants to hear.  It was completely unprovoked and right at the end of class. The teacher said P1 was very brave and tried hard not to cry. P1 bounced back very quickly. We as parents are more upset than he is. We've talked to the teacher and principal, and they are working on a solution.

We  celebrated my mom's birthday on Sunday. One of her presents was puzzles to do with the grand-kids. They sure do love their grandma!

Eagerly awaiting dessert!
