For Halloween, P1 and P2 wanted to be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. P1 picked Leonardo, and P2 picked Raphael. P3 got to be Michelangelo.
We had to go trick-or-treat at Grandma's house and show off our costumes. P1 didn't like wearing his mask because it hurts his neck.
I found a 0-6 month Ninja turtle costume for P3 the day of the neighborhood trunk-or-treat. It was not a planned purchase. But I got it, and thought it would be too big for him (he is still in newborn clothes). Turns out he was too big for it! We couldn't get all the snaps closed around his diaper. There is no way a 6 month old could fit in that! But it was kinda a fun to burp a turtle.
We had a Trunk-or-Treat at the church on the Saturday before Halloween. We got the kids all dressed up in the Ninja Turtle costumes. P3 ended up sleeping through the whole thing in his car seat. So no one even saw his costume. P2 panicked when we got out of our van. She just started crying before we even had to chance to walk around. Eventually she calmed down and decided it was okay to walk around and get free candy.
We even carved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle pumpkins. P1 and P2 carved their masks, and I carved the big ninja turtle.
I took P1 and P2 trick or treating around the block while Dad stayed home with the baby. Then we traded and the kids went out again with Dad. At one home, smoke started to fill the porch after they rang the doorbell (see picture below). P2 panicked and just started sobbing and screaming bloody murder. Poor little girl! All in all, we had a fun time and got lots of candy! (Next year, only buy 1 giant bag of candy, not 2).
